AZ Governor makes a bold move

Jan Brewer, the Governor of Arizona, has made another bold move. Last night she removed Terry Goddard, Arizona's Attorney General, from defending the state's illegal immigration law from possible legal action by the Federal Government.

Goddard, who is her opponent in this fall's gubernatorial election, has been an outspoken critic of the new law. A little too cozy don't you think?

Brewer has replaced him with outside counsel. Smart move I say.

The more I see of Governor Brewer the more I like her.

If you would like to read more detail on this story go to this article at the LA Times.

I welcome your comments on the Arizona illegal immigration law.

Endowed by ...

It is being reported that McDonald Publishing, a school book publisher, is rewriting history by omission.

Glenn Beck told a story yesterday both on his radio and TV show of something that he was presented with in Norfolk, VA over the weekend. He says a young student came to him with a copy of a page from his book at school. This page was discussing the Declaration of Independence.

Beck reports the text from the book is as follows:"the declaration expanded these ideas that all men are created equal and endowed ... with certain unalienable rights. Read the transcript of last nights TV segment.

I would love to see confirmation of this first hand. Assuming this is true, this is an outrage of the first magnitude.

We are endowed by our creator. Our inalienable rights come from God. Not from man, not from the government, but from God.

We cannot stand idly by any longer. If you can dispute this, please do. If not, spread the word.

Your comments are welcome.

Charles Djou (R) wins special election in Hawaii

The seat, that the Democrats have held for 20 years, and the district where President Obama was born, has moved to the GOP column.

Hope and change ripples across the Pacific.

"This is a momentous day. We have sent a message to the United States Congress. We have sent a message to the national Democrats. We have sent a message to the machine," Djou said. "The congressional seat is not owned by one political party. This congressional seat is owned by the people.

Watch out for this woman

Sadly she is a product of UNC-CH. Erica Payne, founder of the Agenda Project.

The progressives are highly organized and we must root out who they are.

You can do something Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano have not done

You can read the Arizona Immigration Bill by clicking here

Why are we being "misdirected" as to the content of this legislation? Why is so much effort being placed on the deception of calling this racial profiling?

President Obama characterizes the Immigration Law as "misdirected." Has any one pressed him as to whether he has read the bill?

Attorney General Eric Holder is concerned and says "we could potentially get on a slippery slope where people will be picked on because of how they look." Then he admits he hasn't yet read the legislation.

Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of Homeland Security, describes her concerns as "the law could invite racial profiling". But she hasn't read the legislation either.

The we have John Morton, the Assistant Secretary for Homeland Security for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), declares he "will not process illegals that are sent to him by the Arizona immigration law." He should be fired immediately!!!

Then the biggest insult of the week is when the Mexican President Calderon pontificates that the legislation "introduces a terrible idea using racial profiling as a basis for law enforcement" and then the progressives give him a standing ovation. President Calderon, I strongly disagree with you!!

These protests of the Arizona Law are based on lies. Read the bill for yourself.

Oh that we would have honest politicians.

As if the CMS report of the cost of health care reform were not bad enough

Today we learn that the CMS report was submitted to Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, a week before the scheduled vote on health care reform last month. This report states health care reform will cost $311 Billion more than Congress was projecting.

Last week USA Today and other publications of note released findings from the Center on Medicaid and Medicare services. The CMS is an agency under Health and Human Services. The report issued findings regarding the impact of the recently passed health care reform. You know the legislation that Nancy Pelosi said it needed to be passed so we can find out what’s in it. Thanks a lot Nancy!

For your reading pleasure here are some interesting tidbits from the CMS report:
• Health care costs will increase rather than being reduced
• Issued a warning that medicare cost reductions may be unrealistic
• May cause 15% of hospitals to operate in the red
• May jeopardize access to health care for seniors
• There will be increased costs associated with the expansion of health insurance coverage
• The true costs of health care reform is hidden by delaying the spending provisions
• Medicare cuts are unlikely to materialize
• You can’t double count medicare savings as the reform legislation attempts to do

To all of this can you say a big NO KIDDING

Anyone with half a brain could have intuitively told you these things. This is why the American public expressed their disapproval of the health care reform package.

Now to know that CMS issued a report prior to the legislation being passed and Kathleen Sebelius buried it. Infuriating!

We’ve been had. But we knew that didn’t we? This legislation needs to be repealed and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid need to be retired back to San Francisco and Nevada.

You can read more on the story at Big Government.

I Don't Worry About The Constitution

So says Phil Hare (D-IL).
Even though he takes an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

This is just an example of the corruption we have in Washington. The ambivalence or outright disdain these people have for our Constitution.

If our elected representatives will not protect and defend the Constitution, then we the people must.

Peope of the 17th Congressional District of Illinois, bid Phil Hare Goodbye!

Class Warfare Works

Unfortunately.

The mantra for tax policy has been tax the rich; make sure they pay their fair share, This class warfare has been going on too long. Why do we disparage those who make more than us?

Covetousness, is what class warfare appears to. This is one of our basest emotions. "Thou shall not covet..." Shame on those that play to our base selves.

But it works. Just look at a recent Rasmussen poll. 65% Say Middle Class Pays Bigger Share of Income In Taxes Than Wealthy. view results

What a misconception. The reality is the 2007 numbers, the latest available, show that the top 1 percent’s income and tax shares reached all-time highs for the third year in a row paying 40.42% of taxes. Further, The top-earning 25 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $66,532) paid more than four out of every five dollars collected by the federal income tax (86.6 percent). Whereas, the bottom 50% of taxpayers pay 2.89% of all taxes. view data

We need to be told the truth. Stop the demagoguery. Quit promoting covetousness!!

Job Killing Legislation

Several corporations have announce charges to their earnings due to changes precipitated by health care reform.

AT&T Inc. will take a $1 billion non-cash accounting charge in the first quarter because of the health care overhaul and may cut benefits it offers to current and retired workers.

AK Steel Corp., Caterpillar Inc., Deere & Co. and Valero Energy announced similar accounting charges, saying the health care law that President Barack Obama signed Tuesday will raise their expenses. On Friday, 3M Co. said it will also take a charge of $85 million to $90 million.

When job creation should be our primary focus, this administration has focused on job killing legistation.
